Your home’s furnace or boiler conking out during the winter can produce a lot of anxiety. But Johnny Prescott is here for you.
We have troubleshooting tips that may be able to help you end the problem without needing a service call. However, if they don’t work, we’re here for you with 24/7 no-heat emergency service.
A reminder: Don’t contact us online or by email if you have a no-heat emergency. Call us for emergency equipment service and fuel delivery.
Make certain you have adequate heating oil or propane to operate your heating system. If your tank is less than 25% full, get in touch with us right away for an emergency delivery.
See if your thermostat is set for a temperature that is at least five degrees warmer than the current temperature of your home. Also, check that the thermostat is set to “heat.”
If you have a furnace, a dirty and clogged air filter can force the furnace to shut down. If yours is dirty, change it. Then set a reminder on your calendar to check it once a month.
Look on your furnace. There should be a button clearly labeled “RESET.” Before you push it, go turn your thermostat up at least five degrees higher than the current temperature in your home. Then press the reset button. Only do this once. If you have enough fuel and the emergency switch is on, pressing the reset button should do the trick. If it doesn’t, again, DO NOT press the reset button anymore. Your heating system needs professional attention. Call us for a no-heat emergency service call.
If too much electricity has passed through the circuit that controls your heating system, the breaker will trip. Frequently, simply flipping the circuit breaker switch will restore power to your heater or boiler. Do so and check your heater again. If it’s still not operating, call us.
When your home’s heating system needs service, you can’t beat Johnny Prescott! Contact us for maintenance and repair services.
